The Church of St Andrew and St Mary in Pitminster is a very special place. The building is Grade I listed (https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1344587). But it is special to Chris and his family for many more reasons than its heritage significance.
After moving to Blagdon Hill in 1980, Chris and his children (Anne and Guy) sang in the church choir for years. The family were all involved in numerous pageants, nativities, services and concerts. Chris rang the bells for years, as did his wife, and he was a stalwart of the building in many ways, from being audio expert to helping with planning for burials in the churchyard.
Lead from the roof was recently stolen and it would mean so much to him that adequate funds are raised to support the building's restoration, with suitable materials and work done to a high standard.
Many thanks for any contribution you feel able to make.
