Chris became Chairman of Taunton Deane Council for Voluntary Service in January 1998. In this role he focused on developing the internal structure and financial stability of the organisation, and promoted communication both in the use of modern technology and in terms of developing a parish links scheme and fresh campaigns on relationships (within and outside the family).
