Chris entered the Royal Naval College at Dartmouth in the middle of a World War, which no one knew when or how it would end.

Chris graduated after 4 years, sailing his boat 'Pegasus' home from Dartmouth to Cowes, then taking the ferry to Southampton, and bus back to Hill Head.
